Dogs are mammals, just like us. If we eat too much and dont exercise enough we are going to get fat as our dogs. If we eat food that is not good for us, we tend to feel lethargic afterwards and do not want to move. Eating unhealthy for us can cause a whole slew of problems from heart disease to diabetes. We can make our skin look unhealthy and our hair and when we go to bathroom. Well let us just say that it can be pretty ugly sight.

Our pets are an integral part of our family; they shower us with unconditional love and companionship, even on the days where we don’t feel like we deserve it! As a result, we often grow quite attached to our beloved furry friends, and strive to give them the best care we can. However, usually due to forces beyond our control, these precious relationships – just like most – are bound to encounter some bumps along the way.

It is important to realize that when you purchase a guinea pig, you are not purchasing a hamster. Hamsters are quite active, and guinea pigs are not. The average life span of a guinea pig is six to eight years, and they do require food, water, a proper enclosure, grooming, veterinarian care, and of course love and attention.

These little dogs are descended from the Water Spaniel. The term spaniel originated in Spain and was applied to a small shaggy race of dogs in that country. Another name, Barbet, was used in connection with this type of dog, and for a time they also were called Barbichon. The Bichon Frise was found in the Mediterranean countries in the 1300s.

Riding on the back of an untrained horse is like driving a car that does not have any brakes. You can take them out for a test run, but you may come back dead. Even thought the horses intentions are good, if he doesnt have experience, you are riding around with a creature that weighs over a thousand pounds and likes to do whatever he wants. As an investment, horses are more of a liability. The horse has the potential of hurting someone and his resale value is next to nothing.

While age-related health troubles are just a part of nature that we must deal with, there are also behavioral issues that can be stressful for owners to endure throughout a pet's life, as well. Often owners aren't sure how to address certain phobias that can greatly affect a pet's well-being, especially noise phobias.

Powerful enough to tackle even a leopard, the Afghan Hound is not a dog to turn tail on danger. Perhaps this is one of the reasons why he is known as the king of the dog world. The Afghans stately attitude and magnificent carriage certainly seem to suggest royalty. Natives of Afghanistan hold the Afghan hound in high esteem, whereas ordinary dogs are considered unclean to them. Some of them even believe that Noah chose the Afghan Hound to represent the dog world on his ark.
